53 cranbrook parts on a 52 cambridge

what parts are transferable  from a 53 cranbrook..to 52 cambridge..are they the same engine? they look the same ..except air clearer..can i rebuild this 53 motor and trans ,and put it in my 52 cambridge at a later date..a back up motor...? maybe a 230 up grade ?

The 53 engine is the same in virtually every respect.  It will be a 217   ( 3 1/4 x 4 3/8 ) just like the 52.   The 53 also had a six blade fan with a larger pulley which runs more quietly than the 4 blade because it turns  slower.   Overdrive is a NICE option.

thanks for the info..yes they both have the overdrive...the 53 has been sitting sense 1986..going by the license plates...motor turns over....he wants $600 for it..im not sure if I'm replying correctly..ive never been on a format much before..im an old dog learning new tricks (computers)

You can always move the OD along to someone else.  The price seems right even if all you get is the engine and trans.

A Moper OD trans for the flat heads will get you $500 ++ any day of the week, easy sell.

Buy the car for parts if nothing else!
