40plyrod Posted May 22, 2016 Report Posted May 22, 2016 Took the family to the maple bay wooden boat show held the May long weekend every year. Lots of really nice boats, I think the oldest was a converted work boat built in 1912. I don't know anything about boats but enjoyed the craftsmanship and the romantic idea of sailing around, however I got the impression from every boat owner I talked to that owning a boat was just buying a lifetime of maintenance work. I thought maybe some of you would enjoy the pics. 1 Quote
40plyrod Posted May 22, 2016 Author Report Posted May 22, 2016 This one was my favorite, the craftsmanship was outstanding and the owner carved all of the adornments on the boat as well as the main rebuild after it was burnt. 1 Quote

RobertKB Posted May 23, 2016 Report Posted May 23, 2016 Wonderful pictures and thanks for sharing. My brother lived on the BC coast for many years and owned two wooden boats during that time. I know he would echo the amount of maintenance required. Quote
