Donas Posted November 24, 2015 Report Posted November 24, 2015 Howdy there, I've got a '56 Belvedere, FLathead 6, 3 speed column shift, and the selector rod is getting borderline. (It will shift into first, but not reverse, per the shop manual) Unfortunately, its pretty rusty, degrading, and I don't think I'll be able to tighten it up. Does anyone know of a source for replacement linkage for these things? Quote
Plymouthy Adams Posted November 25, 2015 Report Posted November 25, 2015 you may have to find a parts car or even better yet would be just to weld this up and reshape....or...cut the rod and weld a section to the end from a newer rod ensuring you have the correct length and orientation when welding.. If the rod end is worn, odds are you may need to address the very plate on the transmission for elongation...do not over look the very shift bushing at the end of the steering column either..probably not the answer you looking for but may the one that gets you in the drivers seat the quickest Quote
cobyworld Posted November 30, 2015 Report Posted November 30, 2015 is the linkage the same for cars and trucks. I'm also looking for all the column shift parts for my B3B dodge truck. or a 4 speed transmission that willbolt to the same housing. Quote
