1941 Plymouth DeluxeTransmission problems

My 41's transmission 2nd and 3rd gear are not working. It was working just fine during a long 20 Mile sunday cruise and then I started having problems shifting to 2nd. After being able to shift to 2nd, 3rd was shifting just fine. I parked it in my garage and yesterday I could not get it to shift to 2nd or 3rd. 1st and Reverse are working just fine. Can someone please assist?

Thank you. Respectfully, Ray

Thank you Casper50!

I just checked the linkage, it appears to be OK, except the  spring that broke in half. I disengaged the reverse and first gear link, and the 2nd and 3rd gear were working just fine, except i hand no Reverse and second gear. I noticed that the rear motor mounts are in bad shape, specially the right one is completely torn and its metal to metal. I was reading a post where someone mentioned that that can cause shifting problems. I am ordering the new mounts from Andy Berbaum today. I am hoping that when I replace them that will fix my shifting issues. I am glad that the transmission is good to go. Any tips on adjusting and positioning the linkage once i made the listed repairs?

Thank you very much.

Project completed! It defenetively helped to remove the floor panel. I ended

Up cutting a small piece on one of the mount's washer screws, to be able to slide the mount in place. My transmission is now shifting smoothly. My 41 is back on the road! Thank you all for the great advise. I was looking to buy a new transmission before I started my research. Now I can buy other parts for my 41.:-) Thanks again!
