Gents,

In a bit of a rush here, as I just started putting my box together for a mock up tonight and was wondering if anyone has a measurement at the front of the box at the top where it straightens out, and just above the first bolt holding the front panel in, what your width is from box side to box side? Mine was 54 3/4", but the back measured like a inch, or inch and a half wider. I had the box square within 1/8th " at the top, so I think my rear plate that hooks the sides together at the back is wrong, but need to know what the width should be.

I also found out I need to tub my wheel wells, which I hadn't planned on, but that shouldn't be too hard with what I'm planning.

Thanks for any help!

the width should be determined by the head board.  What the width is up front should be the width in the back.

That would be great in a perfect world, but I'm seeing different measurements on both boxes I have, except for the one measurement at the front panel top. After 65 years, things are a little warped and stretched. I also wonder if anyone can tell me from inside the box at the front panel, how far back is the first crossmember?? My original side strips were gone and my other truck box is worse, I just have no clue what the distance between box and cab should be and that set whenever I get the first holes drilled

Might be a little late with this info, but ....

Check out the site "dodgepilothouse.org"  look at tab "pilothouse knowledge", then scroll down to the publication "Dodge Preview Booklet".  It has some diagrams of all the trucks, including multiple dimensions.  You just have to figure out which diagram you need.

Ya, long past too late as the box is on and the truck rolling. The front and rear are very close, but middle and top show that the box is a bit warped
