50desotocoupe Posted March 15, 2015 Report Posted March 15, 2015 Hi All! Well as I am driving my Desoto more and more I am figuring out that the stock shocks are pretty much fully compressed sinced I lowered it. Does anyone know off the top of their heads the part numbers for a short shock for the front of our cars? I cut 1 1/2 springs out of it. Thanks! Quote
58prostreet Posted March 15, 2015 Report Posted March 15, 2015 Check Monroe shock site. I think they have a chart that shows extended and compressed lengths as well as mounting configurations for all their shocks. Bob Quote

Plymouthy Adams Posted March 15, 2015 Report Posted March 15, 2015 If not already, have you considered mounting the shock to the frame at the top and not the upper A-arm by use on an aux mount. be it bolted or welded in place? The dampening effect of the shock between the A-arms is so minute that it is not really an effective set up. IF you have lowered your car your move to the frame mounts may even allow you to continue stock shocks numbers. Just saying either way you will have to know your compressed and extended rates to select the proper shock. Those that have gone to the relocated mounts have nothing but praise for the ride and handling afterwards...quite the tamed beast so to speak.. Quote
