BobT-47P15 Posted March 10, 2015 Report Posted March 10, 2015 (edited) It seems eBay sellers have the rear upper rubber mount pieces, but not the smaller piece that goes on the bottom. So.......why does no one seem to make the bottom piece? Wonder if you could slice some off the height of the top one as they appear shorter. Edited March 10, 2015 by BobT-47P15 Quote
Darbone85737 Posted March 10, 2015 Report Posted March 10, 2015 You can get the lower insulator from Andy Bernbaum or Roberts. Quote
meadowbrook Posted March 11, 2015 Report Posted March 11, 2015 I replace the engine mounts in my 50 Meadowbrook found that you feel a lot more engine vibrations through a new mount than through the original ones. Quote
BobT-47P15 Posted March 11, 2015 Author Report Posted March 11, 2015 Perhaps you feel more as the new rubber is more firm than old............maybe even the composition of today's new rubber is different than when original stuff was new. Thanks for that insight. Quote
Dodgeb4ya Posted March 12, 2015 Report Posted March 12, 2015 Some of the new and NOS mounts have very hard rubber. They should be soft rubber. Quote
BobT-47P15 Posted March 12, 2015 Author Report Posted March 12, 2015 Next question is............how can that be either accomplished........or determined? Quote
Phil Martin Posted March 12, 2015 Report Posted March 12, 2015 dowbrook where did you find motor mounts? I need rear mounts for 50 with gyromatic and haven't found them on the web. Quote
Dodgeb4ya Posted March 13, 2015 Report Posted March 13, 2015 Next question is............how can that be either accomplished........or determined? You should be able to push your finger nails easily into the fairly soft rubber mounts. I have one NOS mount that you can not even push a screw driver tip into the rubber it's so hard. Quote
