scotty t Posted December 18, 2014 Author Report Posted December 18, 2014 (edited) mrwrstory, when you get a chance can you give the measurement from the bottom of the filler tube to the bottom of the tank? i think if i spin it around, so the fill is on the drivers side i might be able to use the stock filler hole in the fender. my car is a business coupe so my trunk keeps going forever, the trunk floor is lower in front of the axle. i might be able to mount the tank low enough. mrwrstory Posted December 18, 2014 Report Posted December 18, 2014 Boy, that's a long shot. Can't imagine you could get that tank anyway near low enough. I'll measure in the morning and get back. Quote
mrwrstory Posted December 18, 2014 Report Posted December 18, 2014 (edited) The dimension per your red arrow is 14". Now that I read your post again I understand your visualization. However, unless I'm missing something, I'm thinkin you'll have a fuel sending unit issue. Understanding and agreeing with your vision of the pipes being closer to the center, check out the wagon I no longer own. In order to do that, I skirted the tank on each side and did a 90 degree bend toward the center, behind the tank, and attached, essentially a manifold that connected the two. Off that manifold that runs parallel with and behind the bumper I put the four tips as I had always envisioned them. Ya, ya,....before everyone jumps in with comments about reducing the efficiency of the exhaust system, I know that! But, in my opinion it sure looks cool, it sounds great and I've never had any regrets. Edited December 18, 2014 by mrwrstory Quote
scotty t Posted December 18, 2014 Author Report Posted December 18, 2014 (edited) after i posted that question i looked at a bunch of tanks online, i dont think i'll have a problen finding a horizontal "flat" tank that will lay in the trunk between the axle and the bulhead and be low enough to still use the stock gas fill location. thanks for taking the time to measure. falconvan Posted December 18, 2014 Report Posted December 18, 2014 (edited) I'm wondering the same on my 49 for exhaust. I have it coming out in front of the rear tires but want to move it to the rear. I have 2 1/4" pipes coming off the headers (3.2 V6); and was thinking of using a single muffler that has dual 2 1/4" inlets with a single 3" outlet and then running the single tailpipe in the stock location. BTW, your car looks awesome, you do some really nice work. Edited December 18, 2014 by falconvan Quote
