Greg F Posted August 8, 2014 Report Posted August 8, 2014 Bought a new door to replace my damaged one. Could not get hinge pin out so cut off the hinge on the trashed door. Now I have the hinge out of the car, but can not get the remaining portion of the pin out of the bracket. I am soaking in PB Blaster, but do not think that is going to work. Tried to drill it out but hard as heck. Thinking about taking to machine shop and see if they can help. Anyone have any other ideas, as I need to get this out to put on new door. If no ideas, anyone have a extra bottom passenger door hinge they would be willing to sell me? Thanks as always for the help. Quote
captden29 Posted August 8, 2014 Report Posted August 8, 2014 if not rusted in totally, you need to heat the hinge-- a lot of heat-- try not to heat the pin directly. the hole in the hinge will expand and the pin should be easier to knock out. capt den Quote
Solution Greg F Posted August 8, 2014 Author Solution Report Posted August 8, 2014 Tried a little heat, but don't think my propane torch will get it hot enough. Going to take it to local welder to see if he can help. Thanks as always..Greg Quote
