BobT-47P15 Posted March 18, 2014 Report Posted March 18, 2014 (edited) We bought a well cared for used "01 PT for Mary Ann.....she really liked the looks, and the fact it is a small car (because she"s kinda short). Took it on a few road trips.....it was a bit underpowered.....so don't take any chances when trying to pass. Didn't have any major problems with it over several years. However, it didn't survive the big Joplin tornado in May of 2011. She wanted to buy it back from the insurance company, but they talked her out of it. We replaced it with an 06 Infiniti G35 sedan she thought was "cute". Was a pretty good car (fast on the takeoff).....til the grandson totalled it. Now she has an 08 Lexus IS 250 sedan she likes even better. But we had good luck with the PT Cruiser. Edited March 18, 2014 by BobT-47P15 1 Quote
iowa51 Posted March 18, 2014 Report Posted March 18, 2014 4 of my co-workers have/had PT curisers. Sounds like almost all had the camshaft or crankshaft (not sure) sensor go out. Otherwise haven't heard of any major issues besides that. 1 Quote

Lots of my old friends went over there with church and civic groups to assist. I was in OKC working for the Oklahoma Insurance Department at the time and we sent some people up to help if possible and definitely to observe the recovery efforts from an insurance and administrative standpoint, to prep for the next time that happened in Oklahoma. … Didn't take long, with another big Moore tornado in 2013. There are a lot of great things about living in the central U.S. Tornadoes are not one of those. Quote
