With the beginning of the week of Christmas thankful for what I have Merry that the kids and grand kids are all doing well.

Not so merry of news this morning as received the dreaded call that my oldest aunt passed away last night.  She was 97 or 98 and lost her battle with pneumonia.  Third brother/sister of that family this year.  only 2 left and one is on a banana peel and the other unexplained hospital visits too.

Other not so merry of news today is I found out a good,no great, long term friend from half way across the country,,,who has struggled health wise for 12-14 years,,,limited to a power wheel chair and a bed because cant walk or talk with anyone(even cant talk on phone) because its too much stimulation and causes brain swelling issues.  Found out today she is behind on electricity bills and some rent adjustment which put her behind.  Lives in a rent based on income place BUT her income is so meager.  Lives on $500. a month and about 20 bucks of food stamps.  Has a service dog to care for.  By the last two weeks to for sure the last week she is completely broke and has to choose between needed medicine and food and guessing the food is first to go.

Besides when feeling extremely poorly cant even get to the grocery store or anywhere to get some food.  I have been there once and saw personally what she struggles with, including walking.  I bought a frig full of food before I left but wish I could help more.  Hard to do half way across the nation.  AND she never complains, never tells how tough it is for her to make ends meet or try to.  I would think grocery stores would deliver there to shut ins like they do here,,,but they dont.  Any ideas HOW to help such a good person have any semblance of a Merry Christmas???

Any way I started this thread with a wish for all of you and yours a VERY MERRY CHRISTMAS and a joyous New Year
