captden29 Posted November 27, 2013 Report Posted November 27, 2013 I have a 12 volt charger that is designed to leave on a battery for storage. can it be converted to storage charge a 6 volt battery , with perhaps the addition of a resistor in the line? is it safer to just buy a 6 volt storage charger? I would like to save money, but if I destroy a battery then I am not saving anything. capt den Quote

Oldguy48 Posted November 28, 2013 Report Posted November 28, 2013 I agree with Old Ray. Here's a website that might help you out. http://www.batterystuff.com/battery-chargers/6-volt/ Wayne Quote
plymouthcranbrook Posted November 28, 2013 Report Posted November 28, 2013 Both of the chargers that I use for my winter storage are for 6 and 12 volt. and both cost about $30, one from Sears and one from Walmart Both do the job, one on a 6 volt system and the other on a 12. Quote
