The front sofa seat is a impressive thing. I will have to take it out for cleaning and also to allow the floor to be welded.

The problem is: How to remove it? Where to begin? What shall I remove first to uncover the fixing bolts? Where are they....

Normal way is to look, try, take one step reverse, try again...

Modern way is a post a thread in the forum.:)

The legs on each side are held down by four bolts through the floor. Remove the bottom cushion (Lift the front edge) to get better access to the bolts.

Statistically, the first three bolts will come out easily, but the fourth bolt will defy all reasonable efforts to remove it. So, get unreasonable with it.

I don't know if the back cushion is removable, like the cushions on a coupe. If it is, it will make the seat less bulky to remove. Otherwise, you will just have to horse it out once the floor bolts are out.

Removing the front seat is extra interesting in cases where\when its from a somewhat dilapidated car where there is aluminum flooring and pieces of wood or house siding underneath to which the seat was affixed. ...The rest of time it should be much easier (albeit less interesting) as stated above.

Being a sedan, if a four door, the seat back will be fixed in an upright position. If a two door sedan, the seat backs will fold down. They can be removed from the bottom portion of the seat....will have to study on that when you get to it.

Usually the seat will have to come out the passenger side door due to the steering wheel being in the way.

Yes, there are bolts on front and rear feet of the seat....you should be able to see them and get to them once bottom cushion is removed. Like they said, pull up on front edge of the cushion, then slide it forward and out of frame.

"Pull" is probably the wrong word to use. "Yank" is much more appropriate. Both seats are fairly easy to remove. At least the seat part, I've never removed the backs. Getting them back in takes a little more effort getting things lined up just right and pressed back into place.

I've never looked at the seat from a 4 door. However, it should go together about the same as the coupes.

Remove the lower cushion as mentioned. Then there should be some bolts at the bottom of the back cushion, remove those and that cushion should then come out by lifting it up off the hooks on the metal part of the back. Once you have that out, the metal back part should be bolted to the bottom seat frame. Remove the bolts and take the back support out. Now and only now remove the bolts that hold the bottom seat frame to the floor. This will leave you with just the bottom part of the frame and it'll be much easier to handle. For one thing, if you remove the seat with the back still on it, it will be off balance making it harder to remove, then it won't want to stand upright. When you're ready to put the seat back in, reverse the process.

Do as Norm said and you will find that is how both top and bottom cushions will come out. Just make sure to lift up once you've removed the bolts holding the back cushion to get it off the hooks. You wont see those until you get it loose. Pulled mine with no problem other than that third stubborn bolt that was also mentioned. Let'm soak with penetrating oil and you may be able to salvage them. Be very selective where you store them as well. I found the hard way that yellow jackets not only build nests in the ground but also like those springs on the underside. Found a nest that looked like a hornets nest in my bottom cushion about the 2 feet in diameter and as deep as the seat cushion. They get very nasty when you move the cushion :D
