Greg F Posted June 21, 2013 Report Posted June 21, 2013 Guys, I have a small adapter to go from a four bolt intake manifold to a two bolt stock carb. Is there another air cleaner that I can use on top of the stock single barrel carb, as my stock air cleaner rubs on the bottom of the hood. Question two, is a two barrel stromberg ww too much carb for a stock 230? I wanted to use the two barrel but was told it was too much for the stock motor. Thanks Greg Quote
greg g Posted June 21, 2013 Report Posted June 21, 2013 If you can get a manifold from a 53 and newer car, the casting below the carb got shorter to accommodate the lower hood lines, then you will need to go to an after market airfilter, or modify the stock one to use a dry element and be shorter. drillmastertommy Posted June 21, 2013 Report Posted June 21, 2013 I run a pair of 94's quite successfully on my 218, I'd imagine the worst case with a 97 is that you may need to drop the main jets a number or two. Quote
