Tony_Urwin Posted May 20, 2007 Report Posted May 20, 2007 Can someone explain the different models of Dodge trucks for me? Like B-1-B and B-2-C? What do the different letters and names represent? Quote
Don Coatney Posted May 20, 2007 Report Posted May 20, 2007 Tony; Good to hear from you. I cant assist on the Dodge trucks but I must ask how your Soto and other projects are progressing. Quote
Jim Shepard Posted May 20, 2007 Report Posted May 20, 2007 The first 'B' refers to the Pilot House series, which ran from 1948 to 1953. The number refers to the year of production, with the '1' being either a 1948 or 49 (check serial number for exact year). The '2' is a 1950. The '3' is a 51 and 52. The '4' is a 53. The second letter refers to the tonnage, with 'B' being half ton, 'C' a three-quarter, a 'D' being a one ton, etc. As you get into the higher tonnage vehicles, the numbers get a little convoluted, with double letters and such. Check Don Bunn's books for details. Quote
