The fuel pump on my 1946 Dodge Four Door Sedan was leaking pretty bad from I believe the weep hole. Is there a kit out there to rebuild the pump or a place that has good new fuel pumps? I saw the one on eBay for $139.00, but was wondering if there are any other places that are out there that could be competitive with that price.

Thanks!

From Denton, Nebraska.

This question has come up several (many?) times in the past.  A search for fuel pump should turn up lots of solutions.  One place that I and many others have used is "Then and Now Automotive" in Weymouth, Ma.  They will rebuild your pump using modern ethanol resistant parts. Or for about half the price, sell you a rebuild kit for the pump.

You might check with your everyday auto supply store.......they can often get certain parts new or rebuilt for our

40s cars......sometimes at reasonable prices.  I know NAPA has some things, and O'Reilly has some, too.

If they don't have something in stock, they can often get it from their warehouse in a couple days.

I don't know about stores such as AutoZone, Pep Boys, etc.....as I usually deal with the two mentioned.

Napa does offer a couple different fuel pumps, one for $45 and another without a price. These two are different then what I have. Does it matter what fuel pump you put on the car? Can it be different than the one on the car?

Here is the one at Napa for $45

And the other one that doesnt have a price.

Here is the one on Ebay, and it is very close to the one I have, but mine doesnt have the fuel bowl.

What do you think?

Thanks!
