Taylormade Posted February 18, 2013 Report Posted February 18, 2013 Does anyone know what size screws hold on the inner windshiled frame on a P15? Seems to me I remember they were some sort of special screw and now, naturally, I can't find mine as I get ready to install the frame. What else is new? Quote
Plymouthy Adams Posted February 18, 2013 Report Posted February 18, 2013 as for length..couple sizes as I recall..the garnish trim is secured by what are called Jackson screws as they are special #8 body with #6 phillips head...the length can be determined by using a weld rod to go into the hole..hit the frame..and add for the depth of the screw into the body.. Mark Haymond Posted February 18, 2013 Report Posted February 18, 2013 On my P15 I think I encountered two different windshield garnish screw lengths with the ones close to the vent windows needing the shorter screws. I don't know if the previous owner used factory correct ones. Quote
Taylormade Posted February 18, 2013 Author Report Posted February 18, 2013 (edited) Thanks guys, now I do remember that the heads were smaller than normal. I guess I could turn down a regular screw on my lathe if worse came to worse. Edited February 18, 2013 by Taylormade Quote
BobT-47P15 Posted February 18, 2013 Report Posted February 18, 2013 Apparently two sizes used...... book does not show where each size goes. Here's what the P15 Parts Manual says--- SCREW, Windshield Garnish Moulding (rd-hd., stainless S., No. 6 x 1 3/4") quantity 10 SCREW, Windshield Garnish Moulding (rd-hd., stainless S., No. 8 x 1 1/2") quantity 6 and......SCREW, Windshield Division Bar Garnish Moulding (rd-hd., stainless S., No. 8-32 x 13/16" quantity 4 Quote
