Suess Posted October 11, 2012 Report Posted October 11, 2012 While closing the hood today I heard a loud pop and the hood kicked forward. Upon inspection I saw that the pin/bushing above the spring had snapped. The spring fell off. No damage was done. Is it okay to slide a bushing and bolt back into it or is there another solution. And how do I re pull that spring? Thanks in advance Quote
Plymouthy Adams Posted October 11, 2012 Report Posted October 11, 2012 What car are you referring to? there are a few subtle differnce in the hood hinges between the model years..if a P15...a bushed hsoulder bolt could well be the fix..using a half nut that once tightened in place, excess cut off and sthen staked... use a S hook and chain and a long lever to connect to the lower hook of the spring using the lower side of the frame as the fulcrum point, you will need a trustworthy helper to assist either in the hooking or levering..once in place..you can drop the S hook and chain and be done with it..
