Suddensix Posted August 8, 2012 Report Posted August 8, 2012 Have a 47 Dodge pick up with a foot actuated start pedal and want to change it to a push button start. I'm assuming that a 46-55 Plymouth/Dodge passenger starter will be a bolt on. Quote
carl b51 Posted August 9, 2012 Report Posted August 9, 2012 Yes I am running one out of a 55 plymouth on my B3B . Carl:) Quote
Scruffy49 Posted August 9, 2012 Report Posted August 9, 2012 How do you wire it in? I've got a 49 with a 48 P15 engine, running the truck starter. My replacement engine is a 57 230 and it looks like I'll need to run the car style starter. Ford solenoid? Sweptline relay? Haven't found out yet how to wire it up when I get around to swapping engines (soon, started the 2 tone primer respray yesterday). Quote
Dave72dt Posted August 9, 2012 Report Posted August 9, 2012 If the starter has a solenoid on it, the sweptline style will work. Without, the Ford style. Quote
Scruffy49 Posted August 10, 2012 Report Posted August 10, 2012 Cool! Ford solenoid it is. Smooth case starter. Quote
