PapsPlymouth Posted August 4, 2012 Report Posted August 4, 2012 What is a clutch fork rod adjusting nut? in reading my owners manual it says that this is how you adjust the clutch pedal, and for some reason i cant find the bugger. Any help? Quote
Don Coatney Posted August 4, 2012 Report Posted August 4, 2012 Not knowing what vehicle you are working on does not help others to answer your question. Here is an exploded view of the clutch linkage for a P-15 Plymouth. This may or may not help you. Quote
PapsPlymouth Posted August 4, 2012 Author Report Posted August 4, 2012 sorry, its a 47 plymouth club coupe. thats exactly what i needed, i really appreciate it man Quote
james curl Posted August 4, 2012 Report Posted August 4, 2012 Now the next thing you need to do is go to the home page and copy to scale the template for the over center spring adjustment. You can just glue it to a piece of cardboard from a shoe box. You need to be sure that the pedal and the over center spring are in the correct position before you take the slack out of the clutch throw out bearing push rod. Quote
Dodgeb4ya Posted August 4, 2012 Report Posted August 4, 2012 And... Pics of this adjustment operation. Bob Quote
Dodgeb4ya Posted August 4, 2012 Report Posted August 4, 2012 When the pivot holes and Clevis pins are worn on clutch linkage parts thats when every worn part should be replaced with good parts or wellded up and re-drilled to get the clutch to operate correctly. If the overcenter spring turnbuckle is set to stock length and no pivot wear all thats necessary is the fork to push rod free play adjustment-easy. I've adjusted many clutches over center springs that some one had goofed up and could not get it to feel or work right. If the linkage is worn severely you won't get the correct clutch operation even with the tool or template tool. Usually though all thats needed is the free play adjustment. Bob Quote
