Dr. Fell Posted July 30, 2012 Report Posted July 30, 2012 Hi - does anyone that is parting out a 47 Club Coupe or comparable model have a nice trunk floor area shown in the picture? If so - would they want to cut out the area in the picture and sell it to me? Any other ideas? Thanks. Quote
Plymouthy Adams Posted July 30, 2012 Report Posted July 30, 2012 that is avery rust prone area...I just recently repaired mine..maybe not as rough as yours but welding was required..so far I have had to tweak this area on all the cars through 52 Quote
Ed Griffin Posted July 30, 2012 Report Posted July 30, 2012 When I replaced mine on project 3 I just used the metal off the back of a dryer. The metal seemed close enough gage to use and it had indention's that made it strong. After feathering the lip and certain areas to make it fit I welded it in place then went over the rough edges with fiberglass. It was going to be mostly under carpet so at the time it was going to work. As Tim said these are areas prone to rust. Just like the bottom of the spare tire area. Quote
P15Mike Posted July 30, 2012 Report Posted July 30, 2012 Mine was rusted about the same . I called Owen's Salvage in Texas and had them cut a section out and had it shipped ( around 200 or so i believe ). Very easy to deal with , they even emailed me pics showing their intended cut to ensure i was getting enough metal that i needed . Good luck Quote
