Frank Elder Posted July 14, 2012 Report Posted July 14, 2012 Pictures of the header flange would help..... Quote
Don Coatney Posted July 15, 2012 Report Posted July 15, 2012 Did you ask for recommendations from the company that sold you the headers? Quote
steveplym Posted July 18, 2012 Report Posted July 18, 2012 You will for sure need the intake gaskets regardless. I would think those gaskets would work with the headers. I haven't used the headers myself, but I bought my dual intake from reds and was satisfied with their service. May just want to send them an email and confirm. I used that napa kit for my car and it worked fine. Fairly cheap as well. Quote
steveplym Posted July 18, 2012 Report Posted July 18, 2012 (edited) More info. Here's a pic of the headers. Also it states Kit includes headers, exit flanges, exit gaskets and 4 new studs They also sell a intake/exhaust gasket kit for $12.00, listed on their site. Looks to me like you should be good with those gaskets from napa. Edited July 18, 2012 by steveplym Quote
1941Rick Posted July 18, 2012 Report Posted July 18, 2012 I used stock gaskets for mine.....only issue is the flange on the headers are tinner than the flange on the intake. I made stepped washers for fix that. Quote
52concord Posted July 22, 2012 Author Report Posted July 22, 2012 alright so i put the headers on with the napa gaskets, worked well and the fit was nice, now i have a question about my heat riser since its eliminated can i put a block off plate where the 4 bolts go? is it alright to run it without a block off plate for a day or two? Quote
1941Rick Posted July 22, 2012 Report Posted July 22, 2012 I put a plate on mine ready for water hook up...but then the car sits in storage all winter so there is no need for heat. I see no reason to put a plate on the intake unless you have mice at your place.. Quote
hkestes41 Posted July 23, 2012 Report Posted July 23, 2012 (edited) I have a plate on my intake with water heat (plumbed into heater hose). Edited July 23, 2012 by hkestes41 Quote
