TexasPilothouse Posted March 30, 2012 Report Posted March 30, 2012 (edited) Ok Guys, I've about come to the conclusion I have to get my block inspected, machined and bored and whatever else needs done. Does my 52 B-3-B with its 218 already have hardened exhaust and intake valve seats? I don't want to have to find additives or speacial fuel every time i need to fill up because gas is unleaded now. I've heard from the machine shop here in my area that it may already have hardened exhaust valves but he wasn't sure? Very new to this, your input would be appreciated. John-T-53 Posted March 31, 2012 Report Posted March 31, 2012 And they're tough. Even the block iron (intake seats) is high quality, tuff material. Cutting either seats is not easy...sometimes the stone needs to be dressed up to 2-3 times on each. Quote
