That's really cool, we just had snow yesterday but now it's 58 and sunny, I want to go cruz'in! Your car looks great!

Looks perfect. the tires tuck in just right...I'd say leave that size tire in the back and run a smaller size up front.

I am torn between keeping my flatty, which runs strong but the tranny is having problems, pops out of gear, needs clutch..etc...and doing a V8 swap...so I'll be keeping an eye on your tranny swap.

Does it pop out of 3rd.? The trans I had in the car before the current trans had a hard time engaging and/or popped out of 3rd. Come to find out the trans mid-mounts had deteriorated, broke down and fell out. That allowed the trans to sag which in turn did not allow enough throw in the linkage to fully engage 3rd gear. new mounts and problem solved. My trans works great, but the 3speed combined with 4:10 gearing makes hwy/freeway speeds not so well..

Yup, that's exactly what it started doing at first then all of them started popping out...after a couple of drives around the block I also started feeling/hearing a "CLUNK" when letting out the clutch in reverse, so.....

I found your thread on the pork...subscribed.

thanks for posting about this modifacation,,,,

i also have a 40 dodge coupe,,the previous owner cut the front coils,,but i think they are to short to re-use when i do the fat man up rights,,and relocate the upper shock mount,,,

on my car currently with the cut coils and stock upper shock mounting location,,,it bottoms out quickly,,,not much space between the A arms and frame due to the cut coils,,

as andy asked,, do you think the upper shock mounting relocation made a big difference,,i would thionk so,if your shocks are the correct length,,

and can you tell me how much space you have between the top of the lower A arm,and bottom of frame when at ride height ? thank you in advance

your stance looks killer,,
