The D5 is a 1936 Dodge. The rest means it is a 4-door, 5 passenger, Touring Sedan, the one with the humpback trunk. The body number 3085 means it is the 3,085th D5 4D TRG built. And it should be 1937, not 1936. 1936 models were D2 (US Dodge), D3 (Plymouth based for Canada and export), and D4 (Plymouth based for Canada). For 1937 the string was D5, D6 and D7. You are correct about the body number. The US body plants (Hamtramck, Kercheval, Briggs) usually started at 1001. The Canadian plant started at 1. Your serial number should be stamped on a plate attached to the front passenger hinge post and should be within the sequence starting at 9409056 and ending at 9413740. (4,685) Paint code 610 is Tartan Green, CIL/DuPont code 246-50873. It is an American colour but I have not been able to track it down yet. Do not have Canadian paint chips prior to 1940, yet, only the codes back to 1936. AOH - I have no information on Canadian interior codes before 1949. Canadian codes were three letters while American codes were three numbers. Canadian parts books before WW II listed the US codes but advised for Canadian vehicles the dealer should forward a small sample of the fabric along with the serial number.
