I know that Merle made a posting about this sometime ago, I think that it could be best called a dust seal.

It goes along the back side of the fender, photo 1 and looks like the close up in photo 2

Roberts has something which looks like what I need on page 31 number T27

I have a close up of the same stuff used on a plate used to seal the engine compartment.

Merle, what did you come up with for this application?

Thanks Dennis

Here's what I used. Its a kind of rubber-coated windlacing. I got the last of what some outfit in Oklahoma had. What Roberts carries is not the same stuff.

I used it on the inner fender extension panels (photo) and also along the trailing edge of the front fenders, where they meet the front edge of the doors.

Yes, it was my question earlier. I think it originally was like the stuff that Jim has. What was left of mine has some wire loops in it.

I bought this stuff from Roberts.

I believe this one is the Windlace #T27A, 18' kit for $35.00. It's a black vinyl material with a foam filler.

And I think this is the Sill Seal #T122, 6' for $9.00. This one is all rubber and hollow.

I haven't used either one of them, so I have no idea if they'd work or not. My project kind of got put on hold through the spring and summer. I have too many motorcycle related commitments now through August. Hopefully I'll be able to get some things done to keep it moving along until fall.

I stopped at Metro Molded Parts Outlet store this morning and found the same thing, that product has been discontinued with no plans to make more.

Interesting site at any rate. I did buy some fender welt for another use.

So I stopped at the hardware store and bought some vinyl weatherstrip. No one will see where this stuff goes and it will do the job of sealing off the dust.
