Bouncy B Posted April 18, 2007 Report Posted April 18, 2007 Exactly what color is dodge cream wheel color? I've seen everything from cantaloupe to banana to white to orange. Does anyone know what it is really supposed to be? Thanks Quote
grey beard Posted April 19, 2007 Report Posted April 19, 2007 Well Now, Bouncer, Let me introduce you to the wonderful world of color - RAL color, that is. RAL colors comprise every solid color known to man . .. er' women, too, for that fact, and are used primarily in Europe to bridge the many coor codes and hues manufractured there. There are no colors made that are not included in the RAL spectrum - except for metalics and pearlescen colors, which are variations of solid color bases, anyhow. If you go to a NAPA store that deals in Martin Senour paint and ask them for an RAL chip book, they will give one to you. Once you have it, hang on to it, for if you have the RAL code for any color, any paint company can mix that color for you. Think of it as a universal color code book. RAL number1015 is the Dodge wheel color you want, and if you ask for that, any knowledgeable paint mixer of any paint brand should be able to dish it up. How do I know this is the correct color, I hear you ask in some doubt? Wellll, I just last week took my five Pilothouse rims to the powder coat shop. The inside, where the tube and flap contact, was a nice, pristine original Dodge color, and I just took my RAL booklet to the rim and matched it up. If you can't get NAPA to give you an RAL book, ask to look at theirs and point out 1015 to them. Ask them to mix a quart for you, and you will be in original Dodge color heaven. JMHO:) Hope this helps. PS This RAL book works for body colors too. If you want to match your oritginal Dodge body color, just find a good spot - inside the glove box lid or on a door jamb, where the paint is not faded or discolored, and match it up. Bob's your Uncle every time, and then you have a code to take to any paint shop that knows its business. Neat, what? Quote
Bouncy B Posted April 19, 2007 Author Report Posted April 19, 2007 Thanks so much. I've seen so many "guesses" on wheel color and most of them are definitely off. I'll try to find a NAPA that sells paint. I googled "RAL 1015" and found many color sample sheets. It is certainly a cream, beige, ivory no yellow for sure. Thanks grey beard! Quote
greg g Posted April 19, 2007 Report Posted April 19, 2007 Just for the heck of it you might want to check your local tractor supply or farm supply store and look at Allis Chamlers tractor cream it is paint code; TP270. I believe it is a pretty close match. Quote
