There is a 1948 Dodge Pilothouse woodie in a barn in the New York area for sale. Rumor has it that the barn is going to be torn down and this truck has got to go.

I have looked at all of the pictures and it appears that everything is there. It will take a lot of work, but it would certainly be worth it.

I am guessing that you should be able to pick this up for somewhere between $5,000 and $10,000. I have not talked with this guy, but I won two of these and that is my estimate of the value of this one in its current condition.

Here is the contact info if anyone is interested; the owner's name is Joseph and his cell phone number is 718-207-9848

I'll try to post some pictures, but the guy can email you some, too.

I'd buy it myself, but I already have two, I am out of space, and my wife would kill me.

Email me at charlesfurman@att.net if you make a deal on this woodie. I am trying to keep track of all the Dodge truck woodies that are out there. I currently know of about 20 that range from 1946 to 1955 and from 1/2 ton eight passenger to 1 1/2 ton 18 passenger.

I'd get it if I could, especially since I don't need approval from anyone, but time, money, and space are the deal breakers.

Charles, you taking your rig(s) to Doheny Wood next year?

Yes, the red 1949 will be there. The blue 1948 4x4 will be in the San Diego Auto Museum from February thru May, so it will miss the April Doheny event.

I have had one or both of my Pilothouse woodies at DohenyWood for about the last 5 years.

If you make it to Doheny, look me up. Most of the woodie guys know who I am. It would be nice to meet some of the Pilothouse guys.

I will try to make it down there this spring. A buddy of mine lives in Capo Beach right down the street. If I agree to help him on his '64 Chevy truck he'll let me stay for free.
