Bill, I might be wrong but I think all of the truck trannys had granny low gears. Mine is the New Process 420 syncromesh 4-speed and its has the granny low gear. Not sure what the ratios are but it would be interesting to find out.

Sorry I couldn't help more.

First gear on a 4 speed is a granny gear.

Unless you are climbing Mt Everest with a full load you will never use it, at least not on a small truck.

3speed

1st 3.31:1

2nd 1.79:1

3rd 1:1

Rev 4.33:1

4 speed

1st 6.4:1

2nd 3.09:1

3rd 1.69:1

4th 1:1

Rev 7.62:1

These are Pilothouse ratios. I`ll dig a bit tomorrow to find the car ratios

A fellow called me about my truck last week. Said that he had one just like it on his dads farm. He said that he put it in granny gear and tied the steering wheel with baling twine and he would walk along and toss hay bales into the box and the trailer. He only had the throttle out a little bit.

I doubt that I will be tossing any bales into the back anytime soon, but these were dandy farm trucks in their day.
