jchalk1949 Posted October 27, 2011 Report Posted October 27, 2011 I have a 1949 dodge 218, and the heat riser valve does not have bushings. Is there supposed to be bushings? Tech tips said there is, but manual and rebuild kit do not. It has me stumped. Quote
Joe Flanagan Posted November 16, 2011 Report Posted November 16, 2011 I know this is an old thread, but yes, there are supposed to be bushings. They are sold by Antique Auto Parts Cellar as part of their repair kit. Quote
TodFitch Posted November 28, 2011 Report Posted November 28, 2011 I wouldn't be too surprised to learn that the bushings were a service item only: It might be that the vehicles left the factory with just holes drilled and reamed in the manifold but that bushings were available in for maintenance work to handle the situations where the holes had become worn.
