got a question ,i have a line on a running 1949 dodge 230 motor with 41k for 350 is it agood deal and will it fit in my 48 plymouth sp deluxe? would my 218 be worth a hundred bucks?plus i got tons of trim and 2 dashes gotta sell to finance the build any thoughts on what i can sell or swap for? thanks

Bolt in, I would do a compression test and vacuum gauge reading if it is running that will tell you a lot about its condition. The 350 soulds reasonable assuming condition. It is a worthwhile swap even stock you are picking up 10+hp. I paid 200 for a condition unknown 230 I planned to rebuild. That included th trans also. The engine was free, but not in the car or testable. Your 218 should bring 100 or more depeding on its condition.

$350 is a good deal if the motor is in good shape. I paid $65 at an auction recently for a similar engine, condition unknown, bidding against 2 scrap merchants so your old engine should be worth $100 or close to it, provided it is rebuildable, the block is not cracked, the rod is not sticking out of the block etc.
