meadowbrook Posted August 8, 2011 Report Posted August 8, 2011 Hi folks. Does anyone know if it is possible to adjust the voltage regulator on a 6 volt positive ground 1950 Dodge Meadowbrook to cut out at a lower voltage or engine RPM? Mine cuts out around 500 RPM or so. If possible, would this be advisable? Quote
TodFitch Posted August 8, 2011 Report Posted August 8, 2011 Hi folks.Does anyone know if it is possible to adjust the voltage regulator on a 6 volt positive ground 1950 Dodge Meadowbrook to cut out at a lower voltage or engine RPM? Mine cuts out around 500 RPM or so. If possible, would this be advisable? It cuts out not based on engine RPM but on the current/voltage being put out by the generator. Do you really need full generator output at idle? If so, then maybe an alternator is in your future. Quote
randroid Posted August 8, 2011 Report Posted August 8, 2011 meadowbrook, I'm with Tod 100% but if you have any doubts ask somebody who knows how to adjust VRs and find out it's a can of worms you don't want to open unless you really know what you're doing or are a Masochist. -Randy Quote
Joe Flanagan Posted August 8, 2011 Report Posted August 8, 2011 Go to the Imperial Club website and check out their technical service bulletins. They have a lot of information on adjusting the voltage regulator. Quote
