michael.warshaw Posted July 6, 2011 Report Posted July 6, 2011 a friend of mine bought a 59 caddy like the blue i have. but the motor is totaly frozen, what are the steps to un freeze the engine i believe he poured marvel, and penetrating oil in all the cylinders and now he just has to wait. any other suggestions? Other than that, your friend seems to be on the right track but there's more than one reason an engine will freeze and they're all situation specific. -Randy Quote
White Spyder Posted July 7, 2011 Report Posted July 7, 2011 Pull it and start tearing it down if he is planning on keeping it stock. It will need a re-build anyway. If he is not going stock I would put in a LS1 mated to a 700r4. That is a fairly easy gm swap and will fit nicely. Quote
