Dan Babb Posted July 4, 2011 Report Posted July 4, 2011 I did a search and found these part numbers. Gabriel Pro Guard 61500 Front Gabriel Classic 82007 Rear Wound up getting a set of Monroe shocks that interchanged with these part numbers. This is what the front shocks look like. This is mounted on the lower end and it's fully extended. I thought I read in a post here that the longer shocks go in the rear. Do I have this backwards? Quote
Desotodav Posted July 4, 2011 Report Posted July 4, 2011 From memory Dan, I think my longer shocks went to the front. Desotodav Quote
JBNeal Posted July 5, 2011 Report Posted July 5, 2011 (edited) Longer shocks go in the front...front & rear have almost the same travel. Ya want the shocks to be a tad longer than the free axle travel so that in extreme cases where frame torsion allows the spring to increase in deflection that the shocks aren't torn apart in the process. Dan Babb Posted July 7, 2011 Author Report Posted July 7, 2011 Thanks for the help. Funny how shocks tend to fit better when you put them in the right spot. Quote
