Standing Elk Posted May 22, 2011 Report Posted May 22, 2011 Who makes a 12V to 6V reducer that is heavy enough to run my wiper motor? Pickup has been converted from 6 Volt to 12 Volt and I need to get the wipers working. Thanks S.E. Quote

MBF Posted May 22, 2011 Report Posted May 22, 2011 I did the same on the heater motors for my 36 Plymouth, and 49 1 ton. No issues, and it was done 4-5 yrs ago. Mike Quote
ptwothree Posted May 23, 2011 Report Posted May 23, 2011 Would this also work for the 6 volt radio? Quote
41/53dodges Posted June 1, 2011 Report Posted June 1, 2011 should work fine, just shouldnt need quite that large of a resistor Quote
coW52Dodge Posted June 1, 2011 Report Posted June 1, 2011 How much current do these radios draw, max? If it is less than 1.5 Amps and if you're handy with a soldering iron, you could build yourself a simple regulated supply with a few components, all found at Radio Shack. It would be pretty cheap (sub $15 with box) and the voltage across the radio would always be 6V, as opposed to a resistor that will likely cause the voltage to vary depending on how loud you have it set. I could draw something up, should that fit your application. Quote
