Just wanted to remind you all that the rheostat type heater switch gets VERY HOT!

DUH.

Burnt my fingers pretty bad on it yesterday...was just turning it off but I somehow touched the back of it...and it melted a nice rectangular shape in my finger tips.

SO be carefull....:D

I have a 1" square impression of my watchband burned into my wrist from that big hot connection on the back of a Mopar alternator. Be Careful should be tattooed onto the back of my hands, but even then i probably wouldn't see it.

Another danger point. The square corners on the radiator top tank on a P-15 and possibly others. Yesterday I re-opened two old scars when I once again did not pay attention to the very sharp square corner close to the battery as can be seen in the photo below.

Gents,

Another neat trick that's better to watch than learn on your own is to lean on something under the hood with your left hand while fiddling with the positive battery post with your right hand. I thought that guy had melted his wedding band but he still had it when the bandages came off a week later. This sort of caper also smells worse than stepping on the wrong end of a stray cat, although it was unknown what actually caused the grievous reek to waft about the garage.

Been there and done that too . Here is how I solved that problem when I still had that type of radiator with very sharp corners ; My butterfly hood used rubber protectors on the corners . I modified two of them and glued them on the radiator corners .
