Aussie D25 Posted January 3, 2011 Report Posted January 3, 2011 Hey All, I know Edgy does a head for the long blocks yet has anyone ever heard of him doing a twin or triple intake manifold for the long blocks? Also are the valve covers between a short and long block the same size? Random questions I know but the stupid question is the one not asked. Quote
Andydodge Posted January 3, 2011 Report Posted January 3, 2011 Not sure whether Earl does an intake for the 25" engine, however as these were the more common of the 2 mopar length engines here in Oz there are a few that turn up here from time to time, as for the side plate/valve covers I am pretty sure these are also different between the short & long engines.............check out Vintage Speed in Florida , they list a few mopar bits also .........andyd Quote
Roger the Dodger Posted January 3, 2011 Report Posted January 3, 2011 Hey All, Also are the valve covers between a short and long block the same size? The valve covers are different. I ordered a set of finned alloy ones from the states the same week I bought my 52 Dodge. Then I discovered Aussie Dodges had a 25" engine. The covers were too short Roger. Quote
Don Coatney Posted January 3, 2011 Report Posted January 3, 2011 George Asche is making a new triple intake. If I recall this is for the long block engines. Quote

One thing to point out for the finned valve covers. They look great while on the engine stand, but unless you are running them in a roadster or something with no hood/fenders they get lost behind the intake/exhaust and you really have to look to see them in the engine bay. Wish I had not purchased mine and used the money for other parts. Just my $0.02 worth. Quote
BobT-47P15 Posted January 3, 2011 Report Posted January 3, 2011 Think I've heard that comment before. The covers truly are pretty well hidden. Quote

Not the best shot from this angle yet a local bloke from Newcastle runs a 29 roadster with all mannor of hop ups however agreed that the headers would still cover much of the valve covers. I am very keen on finding out more info on Georges triple manifold though if any one has any ? Price/Availability? Quote
Andydodge Posted January 4, 2011 Report Posted January 4, 2011 Mike.....thats Stewart Campbells roadster, he is worth contacting regarding the intake manifold & any other bits you need........andyd Quote

austinsailor Posted January 4, 2011 Report Posted January 4, 2011 I priced his recently. A manifold with 3 rebuilt carbs and linkage, but without air filters is $1000. Seems like a fair price to me. Quote
