oldcarlover Posted December 20, 2010 Report Posted December 20, 2010 Need to do a valve adj. on my 1950. Where can I find the proper tappet wrenches and feeler gages. Quote
aero3113 Posted December 20, 2010 Report Posted December 20, 2010 you can get tappet wrenches and a feeler gauges at most hardware/tool stores. Quote
Merle Coggins Posted December 20, 2010 Report Posted December 20, 2010 I believe Craftsman still has the long skinny tappet wrenches. Also, if you're gonna buy feeler gauges I highly recommend getting the ones with a bent tip. These will help keep your knuckles away from the hot exhaust when you adjust them. Quote
Jim Saraceno Posted December 20, 2010 Report Posted December 20, 2010 I would think Sears or any automotive store would carry them. I like the bent tip feelers that Merle showed. The do look like they'd be very handy for our engines. I have a set of go/no-go feeler gauges. They are also very handy. Especially if you are doing the adjusting with the engine running. Quote
