Reg Evans Posted March 16, 2007 Report Posted March 16, 2007 Strange. Of the links you listed Don 2 of them worked for me. Roberts Garage and Post War Heavy Metal. The others didn't or came up with some unrelated page. Weird. Quote
Guest P15-D24 Posted March 16, 2007 Report Posted March 16, 2007 In in the process on moving them into a database so ongoing maintenance is a lot easier and I can use the same "core" of data for both sites. Thanks for the updates on the broken links. Quote

Norm's Coupe Posted March 17, 2007 Report Posted March 17, 2007 I have a links page on my site too. http://www.indfloorcoating-repair.com/autohelp.html with links to various other car related sites and/or their addresses. If you check those out, I'm sure you'll also find some dead links there too. Actually, I've sort of given up on keeping track of some of them. To keep the auto related sites up to date, you almost need a full time person to keep track of them. Many of the old car hobby sites are run by individuals, including the parts vendors. Because of that they either keep changing their host, deleting pages, changing page addresses or simply closing down their site when they buy a different make car, or get out of the hobby altogether. When they do this, they don't bother to notify the people who have links to their sites, hence the dead links. Even if they do, some of them change so often, it just becomes a real pain in the rearend to keep up with them. Even a lot of the old car clubs do the same thing regarding changing their sites. So........I'm sure GTK has some dead links now and he probably always will. It's just too hard to keep track of. If you see a dead link and really must get to that site, try running a new search for that subject. Like I said, if a webmaster wants to keep those link pages up to date everyday, that's all he'd be doing. Quote
