55 Fargo Posted October 30, 2010 Report Posted October 30, 2010 Happy Halloween to you to Bob, tonight the eve before Halloween, used to be known as Gate Night, when I was a youth in Winnipeg, lots of pranks, and egg throwing in those days Quote
RobertKB Posted October 31, 2010 Report Posted October 31, 2010 Cool pictures, Bob. Halloween traditions like having a fire (candle in a jack-o-latern) goes back to pagan times and the night known as Samhain when the dead would come back and walk the earth. Huge fires were burned to ward off evil and keep everyone safe. The Jack of jack-o-lantern fame is a later addition when he got the better of the devil but paid for it in the end. Anyway, enjoy Halloween. I did as I got to carve a pumpkin with my soon to be 4 year old grandson. Quote
