There are 4,901 photos of old cars, a few with peoples families but 99% of old cars. A WHOLE LOT OF MOPARS. I had to quit looking after about 1,500 photos. ENJOY!!! Charlie in AZ Quote

Charlie in AZ Looking at those cars there makes it look like time stood still. Actually, since 1959, time has stood still in Cuba, as far as American cars and goods are concerned. It's amazing how they still keep them going. Are they still using the original emgines in them or do you think they have dropped other engines in? Quote
John Mulders Posted March 15, 2007 Report Posted March 15, 2007 I read that most do not have the original engine and other parts anymore. The engines are from cars made in the former Soviet Union and other countries behind the iron curtain. (Lada's etc). Also the steering was transplanted from other cars. As there are no parts the Cubans have been very inventful in solving the problems. John Quote
Guest mike_D24 Posted March 15, 2007 Report Posted March 15, 2007 There was a great PBS special all about the annual parade of cars they do across the whole island. I'll try and drum it up on google. I loved it several years ago. I bet I'd just flip now. Plus I'll be able to identify to MoPars. Thanks for the link. Mike Quote
