Jim Yergin Posted October 16, 2010 Report Posted October 16, 2010 Spent the morning cleaning up the car and getting ready for our local woodie group annual brunch meeting tomorrow. Car started right up and ran fine. Took it on its first real drive since the engine re-build. Drove into town the long way to fill up the tank. On the way home started to run rough and lose power. Eventually it just quit. Because of my past experience, a couple of weeks ago I had the foresight to buy a tow bar off Craig's list. It clamps to the front bumper. I called my wife and she came and towed me home. Getting tired of playing with it and may have to step away for a bit. Jim Yergin Quote
P-12 Tommy Posted October 16, 2010 Report Posted October 16, 2010 That sucks.... hopefully it's something simple. Tom Quote
oldodge41 Posted October 16, 2010 Report Posted October 16, 2010 Hopefully something simple. If it got progressively worse instead of just stopping it probably gave you some clues on where to look. Fuel system, ignition system, charging system. The little things can drive you nuts. If it is home that is half the battle. Now you can look at it at your leisure........Tim Quote
Joe Flanagan Posted October 17, 2010 Report Posted October 17, 2010 Jim, It sounds like it could be something simple. I can certainly appreciate your nervousness right after a rebuild. Keep us posted. You know where your hoist is but I hope you won't need it. Quote
Niel Hoback Posted October 17, 2010 Report Posted October 17, 2010 Hopefully it is a minor thing, like the point gap has closed up due to a worn rubbing block. All fingers are crossed. Quote
