John Mathias Posted October 8, 2010 Report Posted October 8, 2010 Mike, go to Langdons Stovebolt for the upgrades, or start hitting the swap meets. I got a Fenton dual carb intake, and matching finned alum head for $200 in great shape. One thing to take note of on the dual setup, if you run 1bbl carbs, it will either be tuned for city or highway use, not both. In many phone calls with Langdon he explained why the jetting will only work like that. I'm going to be using his 2bbl adapters and carbs. Also look real close at his HEI ignition setup as well, still looks stock, (when used with round coil) and burns a LOT hotter spark, and no points or dwell to worry about setting. The T5 I sourced from a pull&pay type salvage yard. Some guys will say to only get the non-electric speedo, but chevy does sell an adapter to convert it back from elec to mech. Got mine out of a camaro. Notice all lowercase referance to the other manufacturer. Phillips performance does sell a tube type dual exhaust, (header) for a little less $$, but trying to contact them might not be worth the cost saving. For a little extra bling, I'm also getting the finned alum valve covers from PlyDo, they also sell the finned head, dual intake, and exhaust last catlog I got (2yrs ago). Quote
