Thanks for the photos of those two pages. I saw them once at at swap meet years ago but was unable to duplicate the pages.

Ok....I replaced the electric pump...still no difference. I disconnected, cleaned and even replaced some the lines from tank connection to carb! STILL NOTHING! I put the guage directly at the "out" side of the elec pump...got 5 psi. HUH?!?!! I reconnected the lines...got nothing. I disconnected the line from tank...ran the pump....no suction. !@#$%^&!! I DON'T GET IT...What is going on! this system used to work! Now nothing.

This is a 39 ply Positive ground(elctrics had to be connected opposite to make it spin in the correct direction. Pump is mounted in frame just forward of the driver side rear fender...at same level as fuel tank (Instructions said no more than 24" higher). It's as close back to the tank as I could get it...about 2 feet away. Using stock size metal fuel lines with some rubber to connect things up. ALL is new..and clear of blockage.

Try using a can of gas on the pick up side and see if you get pressure that way. their is a good chance it is not getting a prime to keep the fuel flowing. i always mount mine a few inches lower to keep fuel in the pump.

Have you checked pressure from electric pump by removing a flex line to fuel pump? Maybe you do not have such a line, but I have one on a later car. Possibly ther is a blockage in the flex line. Have you tried checking the pressure with the gas cap off?

the hose from the tank (just as stock was routed) goes up and over the driver's side brake drum/fender area. then down and into the frame which is where I put the pump. I will try and lower it...Hopefully all it is doing is not priming for some reason.

I have tried with the cap on and off. I also checked all lines for blockage or restriction. I blew in the tank filler neck and had a second pair of eyes watch the gauge. It went up about 2 psi at the carbs...but only for a brief moment. By the way, gas fumes came back at me from back pressure I guess...not very tastey.

After a lot of hours of work on the carbs...took them apart, cleaned them, adjusted so the throttle plate contacts the screw at the same time. BUT they didn't sound the same. One was silent and the other had a throaty sucking sound. As if one wasn't open as much as the other. I turned in the speed screw to make them sound the same...and it runs much stronger. I know the sync has nothing to do with the speed screws...but it wasn't working the other way. But the throttle plate contact is not the same now. Does that matter? Can they be that different? Same carbs and jetting...gasketed and bolted down tight too.

I took it for several drives to test it out. It seemed that once it got hot it didn't want to start. Turned really slowly untill it finally started. Getting a good charge and all.

I observed that when I switch the coil wires it ran smoother. I switched it back though so I have the negative to the switch...and the pos to the dizzy.

What's up with that?

Well, drove it for a few days and seems good. I am amzed at the power this thing has now. I am guessing the carb setup wasn't synced the whole time I had them on the other engine. Ran fine...but I was really missin' out on the power. WHAT a difference.
