ggdad1951 Posted August 28, 2010 Report Posted August 28, 2010 ok, I'm TRYING to get the rubber insulators in that I got from Roberts, but the dang things are too big! I've tried the soap, I've tried the "warm them up" and they just bunch up...I'm about ready to shave them down a tich with a razor knife. Also when I took them apart there was a rubber washer and a metal "t" washer that was stuck in the bottom between the lower insulator and the retainer (note, this is NOT the "T" washer welded to the retainer). NONE of these parts are in the parts book.... HELP? also from the assembly in the parts book, it shows the bolt that holds this all together coming from the bottom, would it not be better to have it go down JIC the nut comes loose/off? Quote
Andydodge Posted August 29, 2010 Report Posted August 29, 2010 From memory and unless the trucks are different the order from the top is I think, ........bolt head, bellhousing, large flat washer to spread load, larger of the two rubber donuts/mounts,crossmember, smaller of the 2 rubber mounts mounted /inserted upside down into the crossmember, metal tube inserted into the rubber mounts, large flat washer, nut..........the metal tube might be easier inserted from the top.......ie, put the 2 rubber mounts either side of the crossmember & insert the metal tube, then place washers etc & bolt up........hope this helps.............andyd Quote
