I have a dodge truck and have been restoring it for about 2 years. The steering was worn so I sent it off to be repaired. When I got back I installed in the truck. With the wheels center the was no play in the steering, but when I turn it all the way to right or to left to the stop I had play in the wheel, The people that repaired it said that was normal for Dodge. Ques.is, is that right. Who restores Steering for Dodge Trucks? Also Gas tanks. Does anyone know who sells new or replacement Gas Tanks for dodge trucks. my truck is a 60 Dodge !/2 ton. I know I don't belong in this forum, but I don't know who has a forum for a 1960 Dodge pickup. I do have a 230 flathead and have used some tec help in the past.

I have never seen this in any vehicle I have ever owned and trust me with the Sunbeam Tiger and the Ackerman angles that are exaggerated in that steering profile..nothing like this occurs there either. Something is not right...not that familar with the truck, but, does this have a idle arm on the drag link?

I replaced king pins, new drag link and new tie rod with tie rod ends.

Still have movement in wheel when all way to the right or left with this rebuilt steering.

Call Harry's Steering Gear and talk to Sam, 586-296-2920. I've had four steering boxes done by them without a hitch. They are honest, and know what they are talking about. They are currently doing the box on my 50 model Plymouth wagon, total rebuild $250.
