Edward Roberts Posted May 20, 2010 Report Posted May 20, 2010 My behavior is like that of a 16-year old boy: any excuse to get behind the wheel. I drove up the driveway to check the mail the other day! Can't drive to work, though - no spare tire yet, and the 35 mile drive would be a little risky with no back-up. Soon, though. I love seeing and hearing about these old beauts being driven. Trailer queens are beautiful to look at, and hats off to the guys who so meticulously restore these fine machines to their historical glory, but my heart and butt are in the driver's seat. Keep 'em rolling! Quote
moose Posted May 20, 2010 Report Posted May 20, 2010 I didn't drive it "to" work, but I did take it on a work trip this morning. That's my boss in the back seat. She had an important meeting-- at the playground... Quote

I drove up the driveway to check the mail the other day! Where is Norms Coupe when we really need him????????? Quote
LuckyDevil Posted May 23, 2010 Report Posted May 23, 2010 Drive mine to work every day. I think the guys at work are referring to me as the young kid with the old car. Kinda cool because my dad has always been known as the old guy with the old car. Funny how that works, huh? Quote
David Strieb Posted May 23, 2010 Report Posted May 23, 2010 If I didn't drive mine, I wouldn't go anywhere. Quote
cwcars88 Posted May 23, 2010 Report Posted May 23, 2010 I just got back from a trip in my stock Model "A" with friends in 3 other "A"s. Left Longview,WA went around Mt Hood, south to Bend Oregon, tried to get into Crater Lake but they had a gate across the road with 4 feet of snow on the other side of the gate. We went west to Bandon, Oregon on HWY 101 and north to Astoria and back to Longview. On the way up the Oregon coast the weather man threw every thing at us. High winds, rain , hail, sun and more wind. We went around 950 miles, had to reset the points in one car. Get them out of the garage, drive and enjoy them, I plan on waring mine out before the kids get them. Wayne Quote
David Strieb Posted May 24, 2010 Report Posted May 24, 2010 I was born in St. John's in '52, lived on 15th ave close to the lake until I was 5, moved to Noth Bend, Wa. when dad was transfered to Snoqualmie, Wa(Weyerhauser) in '57. I remember Longview from years ago....I think it was the first "planed city" in the state as far as residential/business locations. Will always remember the 4th of July fireworks at lake and the squirrel bridges across the road. Quote
old rat 49 Posted May 24, 2010 Report Posted May 24, 2010 For the last 6 years I have made a point of towing my Teardrop trailer everywhere I go for one weekend a month. Gives me a chance to introduce new people to them. As soon as the P15 is road worthy I shall resume doing same. My car will be my only car so it will be driven daily. Havn't decided on type of insurance yet. Main consideration will be mileage as I drive thousands of miles a year camping. I think that would count as showing because several of the people in my camping group drive vintage vehicles pulling their vintage or reproduction campers. Quote
