Dodge B2B Amber Turn Lights

Recommended Posts

Why have I got such a hard time to finding these turnlights that bolt on top of the Guards??

Any one of you can give me link to any shop that sells these and ships to OZ?

i prefer the ones that have a metal back and have a single lens

Have you checked with a big truck shop? They are aftermarket add-ons, but you should be able to find similar lamps down there. Here in the US we have companys like Grote http://grote.com/ , Peterson http://www.pmlights.com/ , or Truck-Lite http://www.truck-lite.com/wcsstore/tl/splash.html that make several lights similar to that. I'm sure there would be something international that would be similar. In fact I believe those companies are global. That type of lamp assembly would be more common in the over-the-road truck industry, and around here they are readily available. Maybe not exactly like those, but something similar with modern materials. They would most likely be setup for 12 volt bulbs, but a 6 volt bulb could be installed instead.

By adding a fourth wire to the parking light crossover and by adding one additional tail light and wire, it is possible to make the parking lights and tail lights act as directional signals without drilling into the fenders. Unless you have converted to 12 volt, every bulb counts as draw. I have to be very careful not to leave my blinker on for an extended length time while I'm driving. If I do, then park and try to restart, my battery can be weak. This is mostly because my voltage regulator is putting out about 6.7 volts and I have not adjusted my voltage regulator to output somewhere between 7.5 and 7.5 volts. I am strongly considering going to led bulbs which put out much greater candlepower with a minimum of draw when compared to convertional bulbs. I'd like to know more about this if anyone here knows.

Thanks,

Hank

Hank,

Read through this thread. http://www430.pair.com/p15d24/mopar_forum/showthread.php?t=8602&highlight=lights

I also ended up going with the LED bulbs from Superbrightleds.com, to get an amber lamp with the clear lens, so the wire size is a non-issue due to low amp draw with the LED's. My truck is a B2, so a B1 would be identical. However, this should also work with the B3 and B4 lights.

Merle,

Thank you. I think the most interesting thing about led is that to get the most light you have to use red bulbs with red lenses etc. because of the wave-length. I do need to learn more before I switch over to led though.

Thanks,

Hank

They seem to be in the realm of the horn ring, triple bumper guards, Motorola 410, interior sun-visors, clear glass parking lenses and 51-53 in-dash-ash-tray (although I don't smoke). I think that is my complete "eureka" list.

I've been on the computer all day. Think I need to drive my truck to the Post Office and mail my Mom a letter. That's the closest I can come to "country" here in LA...

Hank :)
