Hello All,

Brand new to the forum, but very happy that there is such a wealth of information on here as I start my new project. I THINK it's a 49 Dodge 3/4 or 1 Ton, but reading all the info so far that I've found my #'s don't make sence, but most have been American models so wondering if anyone knows how to read the Canadian model tags?

Ser# 91183935

Model DF2 26

87 hp at 3200RPM

7500 lb spring cap

Windsor,ON

I'm also wondering if anyone has had any luck with a 2 res. master cyl swap that doesn't mess everything up?

Thanks for any and all help!

Shane

Welcome Shane.

When you look through that link you'll find that you have a 1950 model year 1 ton truck. And it's a nice looking truck.

To break down your model number;

D = Canadian build Dodge truck

F = 1950 Model year

2 = 1 Ton chassis

26 = 126" wheel base

The serial number range is difficult to read, but it looks like 91182482 - 91184913. that would put your serial number right in the middle.

Thanks so much!! I have been trying to make sure I know what I'm ordering parts for etc. and hard to know when you can't figure out the tag...it's taken me the last 3 days to find the tag as someone decided to move it from the right spot so this is all heading in the right step.

Now for the disc brake upgrade kit and rear axle swap and things will be moving along nicely.

Can anyone tell me what chevy 5 bolt truck axle might fit this? I'm not looking to keep all the springs anyhow so it will be a 1/2 ton rear end that goes in, and I imagine the parts for that Askers(sp) kit are all for lighter duty vehicle anyway.

Thanks again guys, very excited to tear this truck down and get to work!
