busycoupe Posted April 12, 2010 Report Posted April 12, 2010 The 39 showed up on the Boston craigslist last week. They listed the vin # in the ad. I did a Google search and found the same car in an Ebay auction from two weeks previous, supposidly bid up to 32k. The same car, with the same ad was on the Cincinati craigslist at the same time as Boston, also listed for $18,500. The person who listed it on ebay claimed to be from North Carolina. --- Very fishy! Jim Benjaminson Posted April 14, 2010 Report Posted April 14, 2010 Anybody write down that VIN number for the 39 convertible? I might be able to tell you who it belongs (belonged) to..... Quote
John Reddie Posted April 14, 2010 Report Posted April 14, 2010 Jim, You had a '39 Plymouth convertible didn't you? Do you still have it? John R Quote
fstfish66 Posted April 15, 2010 Report Posted April 15, 2010 nice vert im really liking the verts of the 30s and 40s Quote
olympiab Posted April 30, 2010 Report Posted April 30, 2010 The 1939 Plymouth Convertible was indeed too good to be true. They almost got me. A very elaborate scheme with impossible to detect realistic listings and invoices. Anytime you suspect anything on ebay send a copy of any message to spoof@ebay.com and you will have an answer in minutes. Also do a search of the supposed seller to see if they are a registered ebay seller. Quote
